So what is Laser Therapy? Exactly that….a laser that uses red and near-infrared wavelengths of light to create therapeutic healing effects in the body.
Laser Therapy treats a wide variety of conditions, and is especially effective with pain management. Laser Therapy accelerates wound/injury healing, decreases inflammation, pain, and scar tissue formation. When it comes to pain management, Laser Therapy provides dramatic results, is non-addictive and virtually free of side effects.
During each painless treatment, laser energy increases circulation, drawing water, oxygen, and nutrients to the damaged area. This creates an optimal healing environment that reduces inflammation, swelling, muscle spasms, stiffness, and pain. As the injured area returns to normal, function is restored and pain is relieved.
Numerous research studies show that laser treatments can help with these conditions:
Arthritis
Back Pain
Carpal Tunnel Syndrome
Fibromyalgia
Knee Pain
Shoulder Pain
Sports Injuries
Work or Auto Related Injuries
Soft Tissue Injuries
Tendinopathies
Tennis Elbow
Sprains, Strains
Repetitive Strain Injuries

Headaches are common, NOT normal. And because they are so common, many people think that getting a headache is just a normal part of life! It doesn’t have to be……
Headaches are most often a sign that something is not right in your body. There are many types of headaches and many things can cause headaches such as: stress, hormones, certain foods, preservatives, alcohol, and toxic fumes, just to name a few. A frequent and overlooked cause of headaches is the malfunction of spinal bones in the neck and upper back…bones being out of alignment. This can affect the nerves and blood vessels to the head. When nerves and surrounding tissues are stretched or irritated because of misalignment, they can produce painful headaches. Medications may cover up the pain, but do not correct the underlying structural cause.
Many people find relief and correction with chiropractic care. The Institute of Chiropractic and Acupuncture Therapy has helped many people get drug-free results, drastically reducing or totally eliminating patient’s headaches! Some estimates suggest that 25% of the population has a headache right now…are you one of them?

Sciatica describes persistent pain felt along the sciatic nerve, which runs from the lower back, down through the buttock, and into the lower leg. The Sciatic Nerve is the longest and widest nerve in the body. Sciatic pain usually develops as a result of general wear and tear and use of the lower spine, not as a result of injury.
The most common symptoms of sciatica are a shooting, tingling, burning, or aching sensation, typically on one side of the body that radiates down the path of the sciatic nerve. Other symptoms may include numbness, tingling, or weakness of the affected leg or foot. Sciatica can worsen after prolonged sitting, bending, or other sudden movements.
Chiropractic adjustments offer a non-invasive, drug-free treatment option for sciatica. The goal of chiropractic treatment is to restore spinal movement, thereby improving function while decreasing pain and inflammation. Depending on the cause of the sciatica, your chiropractor may also use ice/heat therapy, TENS, ultrasound, and rehabilitation exercises in addition to chiropractic adjustments in your treatment for sciatica.
While it is not always possible to prevent sciatica, here are some suggestions to improve spinal health and reduce the risk of sciatica:
Maintain a healthy diet and weight
Exercise regularly
Maintain proper posture
Use good body mechanics when lifting

If you have a headache, you’re not alone. Nine out of ten Americans suffer from headaches. Some headaches are occasional, some frequent, some are dull and throbbing, and some cause debilitating pain and nausea.
What do you do when you suffer from a pounding headache? Do you grit your teeth and carry on? Lie down? Pop a pill and hope the pain goes away? There is a better alternative.
Research shows that spinal manipulation – the primary form of care provided by doctors of chiropractic – can be an effective treatment option for tension headaches and headaches that originate in the neck.
Headache Triggers
Headaches have many causes, or “triggers.” These may include foods, noises, lights, stress, insomnia, blood sugar changes, etc. Ninety-five percent of headaches are primary headaches, such as tension, migraine, or cluster headaches. These types of headaches are not caused by disease.
What Can You Do?
If you spend a large amount of time in one fixed position, such as in front of a computer, reading, etc., , take a break and stretch every 30 minutes to one hour.
Low-impact exercise may help relieve the pain associated with headaches.
Avoid teeth clenching. The upper teeth should never touch the lowers, except when swallowing.
Drink at least eight 8-ounce glasses of water a day to help avoid dehydration, which can lead to headaches.
What Can a Chiropractor Do?
Your chiropractor may do one or more of the following if you suffer from a primary headache:
Perform chiropractic adjustments to improve spinal function and alleviate the stress on your system.
Provide nutritional advice, recommending a change in diet and perhaps the addition of B complex vitamins.
Offer advice on posture, exercises and relaxation techniques. This advice should help to relieve the recurring joint irritation and tension in the muscles of the neck and upper back.
